TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

GHOST: The spirit of a dead person, especially one believed to appear in bodily likeness to living persons or to haunt former habitats.

SPIRIT: Incorporeal consciousness. Energy that survives the death of the physical body. 

E.V.P. (Electronic Voice Phenomena) Disembodied voices and sounds captured on audio devices that are not audible during recording, but become audible upon playback.  These sounds are believed to be the voices of the deceased.

EMF:(Electromagnetic Field) The field of force associated with electric charge in motion, having both electric and magnetic components and containing a definite amount of electromagnetic energy. In paranormal studies, spirits are believed to emit similar frequencies.

ORB: A free floating sphere of light that can exist within either the infrared light spectrum or the can be visible to the naked eye.

PHANTOM: A temporary visual manifestation of a person or object as it appeared in the past.


CEMETERY LIGHTS: Free floating lights that hover over cemeteries or other burial grounds.  Often thought to be the souls of the deceased.

POLTERGEIST: Noisy ghost or spirit. One that does not manifest visually, but instead relies on noise and moving objects to raise awareness of it's presence.
